How it all Began

     RPM Sand was founded in 2013. Coach Ryan Mariano and coach Nick Bowling were living in Flagstaff at the time but were contacted by the parents of two players in the valley to run private lessons. They would make the drive to the valley 2-3 days a week to train these girls while they were also running an indoor club in Flagstaff. When these two girls decided they wanted to start playing in tournaments, the need to form an official club began. 

     RPM Sand was born with just 6 players and coaches who were commuting back and forth between Flagstaff and Phoenix to train them. In 2014 Ryan moved to Phoenix and Nick stayed in Flagstaff. Ryan began to grow the club in the valley while Nick ran things during the summer in Flagstaff and also commuted 2-3 times per week to help train players in Phoenix. In 2015 RPM Sand had its first graduating class. In 2016 coach Nick moved to Phoenix and RPM Has been based mainly out of Horizon Park in Scottsdale ever since. RPM Sand and its coaches have trained players all the way from 10 years old through Olympians. We pride ourselves on knowing what it takes to truly become great in our sport and helping players to chase their dreams.

     Here are some things we have done that no other club in the state of Arizona has. We have won 6 National Championships in our 10 years as a club. We have helped 89 athletes commit to playing in college with 81 of those athletes committing to D1 schools. Our athletes are also integral pieces in the success of their programs at the next level. RPM athletes have won multiple NCAA D1 National Championships, a D2 National Championship, and a D3 Runner-up. We have multiple AVCA All-Americans, record holders for wins at multiple schools, multiple players who have joined the elite 100 win club in college, multiple players who are AVP Pros, and multiple players who have won international medals!
