Coach Nick was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona and has been with RPM Sand since it was founded in 2013. In 2005, Coach Nick got his start as a coach and had an immediate impact helping lead Sinagua High School to it’s first, and only state title game. Since then, Nick has coached at pretty much every level imaginable. Whether it was running USA Indoor and Beach High Performance tryouts, winning 3 Junior Beach National Championships at 3 different age levels with 3 different teams, or sitting in the box of a main draw on the AVP Tour. Nick has also had the opportunity to be a scout for former Olympians as well as Olympic hopefuls with RPM’s professional and international coaching staff.
When Nick doesn’t have his hat and sunglasses on in the sand, he’s busy as a Spanish teacher at Sandra Day O’Connor High School. Coach Nick’s background in teaching is a key component to his success on the sand. Coach Nick also has extensive playing experience both indoor and on the beach having competed in multiple AVP qualifiers over the years as well as finishing top 4 at the USA Volleyball’s Men’s Indoor National Championships in 2006. While volleyball is his absolute passion, his family is what is most important to him. Talking about his nephews Henry and Lincoln as well as his nieces Eleanora and Penelope will always bring a smile to his face.
